Cekette was founded in 2018 by Lal Bilgutay. It is based in Istanbul, Turkey. 

Lal envisioned a responsible fashion label for modern-day people of all ages, groups and genders. True to her Turkish roots, she named the brand Cekette, a unique spelling of the word for “jacket” in her native language.

Our initial collection emerged from the concept of gender-neutral fashion, and was made up of only denim jackets. This swiftly evolved into a capsule collection of outerwear.

With our SS21 collection, Cekette matured into a ready-to-wear label focusing on womenswear. Faithful to our origins, we continue to display significant genderless options. Our collections are defined by Lal’s unique way of contrasting different fabric textures: upcycled denim, gabardine, and vegan leather are among her favorites.
