Cekette is a contemporary label founded by Lal Bilgutay in Istanbul in 2018. The brand’s name is inspired by the Turkish word ceket, meaning jacket, reflecting its origins in a limited edition of upcycled denim jackets. Since then, it has evolved into a full ready-to-wear collection defined by sharp tailoring and unexpected fabric pairings, with a continued focus on denim—a material that remains central to the brand’s identity.

Setting itself apart from typical denim brands, Cekette primarily uses denim as fabric rather than through traditional garment construction methods. This approach results in designs that are modern, timeless, and sophisticated. One of the brand’s most beloved pieces, the double-waisted pants, perfectly reflects Cekette’s DNA: the harmonious fusion of tailoring and denim.

Today, Cekette continues to showcase its collections at its showroom and atelier in Abdi İpekçi, Istanbul.
