Cekette is an Istanbul-based label founded by Lal Bilgütay in 2018. The name comes from ceket, the Turkish word for jacket, a nod to where it all started: a small run of upcycled denim jackets, made right after university, mostly for fun.

What began as reworked denim grew into tailoring, and in 2021 Cekette opened its first studio and expanded into a full ready-to-wear collection.

The brand is built on an instinct to combine. Unexpected materials, textures and shapes meet in a single piece, and denim is approached through a tailoring lens, treated as a medium rather than a category. Fabric, cut and detail always come first. Signature pieces like the double-waisted pants carry the balance at the heart of the brand: classic structure, with a twist.

In early 2026, Cekette stepped away from the seasonal calendar. Instead of collections, it now releases small drops throughout the year, each produced in limited quantities. It is a slower way of making clothes: signature pieces stay at the core, while each drop adds something new.

Today, Cekette is exclusively online, reaching customers around the world through its own platform.
